Minting is the process of creating an NFT on Ethereum and recording its initial ownership in a blockchain transaction. Ethereum permanently records the NFT’s token identifier, ownership history, and metadata reference, while supporting information and media may be stored through decentralized storage such as IPFS.
You can browse NFTs currently available to mint on the Mint Now page. You can also submit a specific real-world address through Mapstone’s custom Address claim form. Custom claims must be reviewed and approved before they appear under “Ready to Mint” in My NFT Collection.
Completing a mint requires a connected wallet and an Ethereum transaction that includes the NFT’s mint price and applicable network gas fee. After the transaction is confirmed, the NFT will appear under “My Minted NFTs” and can be listed for sale or considered for offers through the Mapstone Marketplace.
Minting a Mapstone NFT creates ownership of the digital token only. It does not provide ownership of the physical address, land, building, or other real estate associated with that NFT.
