How to play

Choose locations. Earn points. Win ETH.

Analyze real estate market data, build your portfolio of Address NFTs, and earn Address Quest™ points based on how your selected postal codes perform in the real world.

01

Research postal code trends

Use Mapstone’s data explorer to analyze trends in home values and identify U.S. postal codes showing strength, momentum, or changing market conditions. Current data is provided using the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI).

02

Collect Address NFTs

Strategically mint and trade Address NFTs in postal codes you believe will increase in value in the real world. Build your portfolio and make your picks by the last day of each month. Address NFTs owned when the month-end snapshot is taken count toward that month’s score.

03

Earn AQ points

When new real estate market data is released each month, Address Quest™ points are applied based on monthly changes in home values for each postal code. Address NFTs in postal codes with rising values gain points, while those with declining values lose points.

04

Climb the leaderboard

AQ points accumulate across the season as players compete for higher leaderboard positions. Once the prize pool reaches 10,000 ETH, Address Quest™ v1.0 concludes and the top 1,000 players earn ETH rewards.

Zillow

How scoring works

Address Quest™ points are based on monthly home value changes by U.S. postal code, using trusted market data sources. Current home value data is provided using the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI).

Formula

AQ points = monthly postal code home value % change × 100

You earn 1 point for every 0.01% increase in home value for the postal code tied to your Address NFT. You lose 1 point for every 0.01% decrease.

Rising postal code = points gained
Declining postal code = points lost

Flow

  • At each month-end cutoff, Mapstone records on-chain Address NFT ownership using the final Ethereum block mined at or before the cutoff.
  • After the month ends, updated home value data is published for that month. Current data is provided using ZHVI.
  • Each Address NFT included in the snapshot is scored using the monthly change in the home value for its postal code.

Only Address NFTs earn AQ points. Neighborhood NFTs do not qualify.

On-chain reward model

What powers the 10,000 ETH prize pool

Address Quest™ rewards are funded by activity across the Mapstone platform. 10% of every NFT mint and 1% of every marketplace sale are allocated on-chain to the Address Quest™ prize pool until the 10,000 ETH target is reached.

As platform activity grows, the prize pool grows with it, creating a transparent link between ecosystem usage and final ETH rewards for top players.

Mint activity

Every NFT mint on Mapstone contributes 10% of the mint price to the prize pool.

Marketplace activity

Every NFT sale on the Mapstone marketplace contributes 1% of the sale price to the prize pool.

Address Quest™ FAQs

The details that matter once you start thinking like a player.

Address Quest™ is Mapstone’s skill-based competition where players collect Address NFTs and earn points based on monthly changes in typical home values by U.S. postal code. Players compete to reach the top 1,000 and earn ETH rewards.

Address Quest™ points are primarily earned from the monthly percentage change in the typical home value for the postal code tied to each Address NFT you own. Each 0.01% increase adds 1 point, and each 0.01% decrease deducts 1 point. Points are applied after the completed monthly home value data is released, typically about two weeks after month-end.

Mapstone may also introduce supplemental point opportunities from time to time, such as special challenges, promotions, or ecosystem activities.

At the end of each month, Mapstone takes a snapshot of on-chain Address NFT ownership using the final Ethereum block mined on the last day of the month. The Address NFTs held in the wallet associated with your Mapstone account at that month-end block are included in that month’s scoring.

Only mints, purchases, sales, and transfers confirmed on-chain by that block are included in the snapshot. Points for those NFTs are applied after the monthly home value data is released.

You can play with as many Address NFTs as you want across as many postal codes as you choose. Each Address NFT contributes independently to your total Address Quest™ points based on the monthly change in the typical home value for its postal code.

Neighborhood NFTs do not qualify for Address Quest™ points because they earn their own separate royalties.

The Address Quest™ prize pool is funded on-chain through platform activity. 10% of every NFT mint and 1% of every marketplace sale are allocated to the prize pool until the target is reached. Address Quest™ v1.0 continues until the prize pool reaches the level required to fund the published reward structure, with a target prize pool of 10,000 ETH. All allocations are executed automatically on-chain and are fully transparent.

At the conclusion of Address Quest™ v1.0, the top 1,000 players on the leaderboard earn ETH rewards based on their final rank. If players are tied on points, rankings are determined by total referral rewards earned, then number of referral events, and then earlier account creation date. To participate and claim rewards, players must be at least 18 years old, complete identity verification and compliance checks, and submit any required tax documentation within the claim period.

Address Quest™ scoring is based on monthly changes in home values by postal code. Current data is provided using the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI) which represents the typical home value in a given postal code. Zillow calculates this from a trimmed average of Zestimates for homes in the middle tier of the market; it is not a median.

Zillow publishes smoothed and seasonally adjusted versions of this data. For the current data source, Mapstone uses raw monthly ZHVI observations so the measured home value changes reflect month-to-month market movement.

Zillow typically releases each completed month of ZHVI data about two weeks after month-end.

There is no single winning strategy. The strongest players actively study market trends, diversify across postal codes, and reposition their Address NFTs before the month-end snapshot when needed. Address Quest™ rewards players who stay informed, think ahead, and make disciplined decisions over time.
