A crypto wallet allows you to securely own, manage, mint, and trade Mapstone NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.
Connecting an existing wallet
- Visit mapstone.io and click Connect Wallet near the top of the page.
- Select your preferred wallet from the available options. Mapstone currently recommends MetaMask.
- Follow the prompts inside your wallet to approve the connection and sign in to Mapstone.
- If prompted, switch your wallet to the Ethereum Mainnet network.
On a desktop computer, make sure the official MetaMask browser extension is installed and unlocked before connecting. On a mobile device, you can connect through the MetaMask mobile app by following the wallet prompts or opening Mapstone through MetaMask’s in-app browser.
Connecting without an existing wallet
If you do not already have a dedicated crypto wallet, select the email login option after clicking Connect Wallet. Enter your email address and the one-time verification code sent to your inbox. A wallet will be generated for you automatically.
Always use the same email address and login method when returning to Mapstone so you reconnect to the same generated wallet.
If your wallet will not connect
If your wallet does not connect or the connection window does not appear, try the following steps:
- Confirm that you are visiting mapstone.io.
- Make sure your wallet extension or mobile wallet app is installed, enabled, updated, and unlocked.
- Refresh the Mapstone page and click Connect Wallet again.
- Check whether the wallet approval window opened behind your browser or in a separate extension window.
- Confirm that your wallet is connected to Ethereum Mainnet.
- If you have multiple wallet extensions installed, make sure you are selecting and approving the connection through the intended wallet. Temporarily disabling unused wallet extensions may help resolve extension conflicts.
- Open your wallet’s connected-sites settings, disconnect Mapstone if it is already listed, and then return to Mapstone to establish a new connection.
- If you are using WalletConnect, refresh the connection request and scan the new QR code through a compatible mobile wallet. WalletConnect sessions and QR codes may expire if they remain open too long.
- On a mobile device, try opening Mapstone through the wallet’s built-in browser if the connection does not complete through your regular mobile browser.
- Close and reopen the browser or wallet app before trying again.
If you are connecting with email and do not receive the one-time verification code, check your spam, junk, promotions, and filtered-message folders. Confirm that you entered the correct email address before requesting another code.
If the problem continues, submit a Mapstone support ticket and include your public wallet address, wallet type, browser, device, the steps you attempted, and any error message or screenshot. See How do I submit and manage a support ticket?
Wallet connection safety
- Verify that you are visiting mapstone.io before connecting your wallet.
- Never share your private key, Secret Recovery Phrase, wallet password, or one-time login code.
- Connecting your wallet does not transfer your NFTs or cryptocurrency. Individual blockchain transactions still require confirmation through your wallet.
- Read every wallet request before approving or signing it.
Your first successful wallet connection automatically creates your Mapstone account. Each Mapstone account is associated with one Ethereum wallet address.
