Mapstone NFTs are ERC-721 NFTs on Ethereum, which means they may appear in wallets, blockchain explorers, and third-party NFT marketplaces that support standard Ethereum NFTs.
However, Mapstone’s full marketplace allocation system is designed for transactions completed through the official Mapstone Marketplace.
If a Mapstone NFT is listed, purchased, sold, or transferred through a third-party marketplace, the NFT ownership can still move on-chain. The new owner may see the NFT in their wallet or on supported NFT platforms, depending on how that marketplace indexes Mapstone metadata.
Third-party marketplaces may also display the NFT’s name, image, description, traits, and other public metadata from the token’s metadata URI.
Mapstone’s full royalty and suballocation system is only guaranteed for transactions completed through the official Mapstone Marketplace.
That means third-party marketplace sales may not automatically route Mapstone’s intended marketplace allocations, including allocations to the Address Quest™ prize pool, Neighborhood NFT owners, charity recipients, Mapstone royalty receivers, or other Mapstone-specific receiving wallets.
Some third-party marketplaces may support standard NFT creator royalties, but those royalty payments are controlled by the third-party marketplace’s own policies and systems. They may not include Mapstone’s full internal allocation structure.
No. Mapstone NFT minting must happen through Mapstone’s official minting flow. Minting requires Mapstone authorization and cannot be bypassed by using a third-party marketplace.
Address Quest™ points are tied to Mapstone account-linked wallet ownership snapshots. To participate in Address Quest™, a user must connect or register their wallet through Mapstone.
If a wallet already has a Mapstone account and owns an eligible Mapstone NFT at the relevant snapshot time, that ownership may be recognized for Address Quest™ points. Buying a Mapstone NFT on a third-party marketplace does not automatically create a Mapstone account.
For the full Mapstone experience, including marketplace allocations, Address Quest™ participation, Neighborhood owner benefits, charity allocations, and Mapstone account features, users should buy, sell, and manage Mapstone NFTs through the official Mapstone Marketplace whenever possible.
